How we work
A builder, a project manager and a little black book.
Most building jobs go wrong in the gaps — between the groundworker and the bricklayer, between the plumber and the plasterer, between what you asked for and what turned up. Hodgson & Partners exist to close those gaps. We take on the project, set out the order of work, bring in the trades it needs and stay answerable for the lot.
Sometimes that means our own team on the tools. Sometimes it means putting you in front of the right specialist and making sure they turn up, price it straight and finish it properly. Either way you deal with Ted, not a rota of strangers — which is the thing our clients keep writing about.

The phone call
You ring Ted on 07304 311298 or email, and describe the problem rather than the solution — “the garden’s unusable”, “the drains are backing up”, “the flat needs sorting between tenants”. Ten minutes on the phone usually tells us whether it’s a job for us, and we’ll say so either way.

Coming to look
Almost nothing about a building job can be judged from a photo. We come out, walk it with you, take levels and measurements where they matter, and talk about what’s realistic. You’ll get an honest view — including when the answer is that you don’t need the work you thought you needed.

Scope, order and price
You get back a written scope: what’s being done, in what order, what’s included and what isn’t, and which stages need a specialist. Anything that genuinely can’t be priced until something is opened up is flagged as exactly that, rather than buried as a surprise later.
